Speaking

Through my work as an author and at Google, I have developed valuable expertise in how the best organizations operate and innovate in times of rapid change, and have lots of experience in sharing what I've learned in keynotes.  Current topics include:

The Trillion Dollar Coach’s Leadership Formula

Amid the constant turmoil of today’s business environment, effective leadership is more important than ever at all levels of an organization.  In this talk, Alan Eagle, best selling co-author of How Google Works and Trillion Dollar Coach, shares the unique leadership formula executive coach Bill Campbell used to propel Google and Apple to their lofty success.  Illustrated with anecdotes from Bill’s career and Alan’s years as a leader at Google, the talk provides audience members with concrete practices they can use to embellish their own leadership formulas and get the best out of their teams.

Learned Excellence: Mental Disciplines for Leading and Winning

We are all performers - at work, at home, at life - and would all like to be the best we can be.  But how to get there?  In this talk, Alan Eagle, co-author of the book Learned Excellence, dives into the mental disciplines employed by the Navy SEALs, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Miami Heat, the US Women’s national soccer team, and numerous Olympians, athletes, first responders, and executives to become and stay the very best.  Based on the 30+ year career of high performance psychologist Dr. Eric Potterat and on Alan’s own fitful experiences learning excellence, the talk presents a practical “learned excellence action plan” that audiences can use to get started.  Because the world’s top performers aren’t born excellent, they learn excellence.  So can everyone else.

Sell by not selling

Everyone wants to tell stories, but what good are they if no one is actually listening?  This is the situation most companies face with their speeches, blog posts, press releases, and events.  The problem is, they just can’t stop selling.  The company has a message it wants to get out and it won’t let little things like human engagement and enrichment get in the way.  The result: boring, scripted stories that are sure to make audiences tune out.

Alan Eagle has a better approach: sell by not selling.  In this talk, Alan shares the process he developed in his 16 years at Google to help company executives and sales leaders tell stories that make people learn, think, and feel.  He guides the audience to discover and share the interesting insights, perspectives, and stories that are inherent in any leader and organization.  The result?  More engagement, real interest, genuine leads and brand equity.
